Ok so we tried hooking up our speedometer again and still nothing. I just put in a Speedo cable and checked it at the transfer case and the dash all hooked up. But not working what could be wrong?
By the way the truck is a 1984 Ford Bronco 2 4x4 manual tranny.

Disconnect the cable at the transfer case and turn the inner cable by hand, not sure if clockwise or counterclockwise to determine if the speed works.
If it does work make sure the inner cable is long enough to engage both the speedometer and transfer case. If engaged at the tc you should not be able to turn the cable from the speedo end.If you can and are sure it is engaged pull the gear out and check for damage.
This should narrow your search for the problem

Reason: dyslexia
We have tried that could it be since it is a used speedo cable that it could be snapped inside of it? Thats what my dad keeps saying. I wouldn't doubt it if that is true.

It's possible, hold one end of the inner with needle nose pliers and try and turn the other end.....if it turns it's broken.
Ok I will try that when I get the chance I have so many projects plus the rain going on right now lately is post ponning alot. I will let you all know.
