t18 shifter problems
If anybody could help..i was dropping the tranny to c if if wanted the c4..and took out the shifter..made sure the pin on the side was out and popped it out. The tranny was in neutral on a level surface. I went to put it back in and the shifter won't move at all..the tranny spins hut the shifter is stuck??

there are 3 forks on the shifter housing that move the gears, they have to be aligned with the slots they go in on the gears. dont force anything as the plastic inserts at the end of the forks can be damaged or pop out. Others have had the same problem and said they got it by working the shifter and the input shaft a bit. I've noticed that its easiest to put the trans in 1st b4 pulling the shifter out. less resistance pulling it out means less resistance putting it back. now you have to pull the shifter back out and check it. i bet it was just jammed because it was not aligned right.
