Okay, I'm on board with this input now. I hadn't been reading correctly for a few day's and missed some critical info. HIO, you're saying to flip the front hanger and reinstall. Not flip the axle as I was reading it to be.
Correct.... Invert (flip) the front spring hanger on the rear springs... gotta knock out the rivets and drill a few holes.
I believe the concern is with the crossmember's strength. IMO, it's OK to cut so long as its structural integrity is restored...that's me though and in this, as with any forum, opinions will vary.
Well, in classic form, it seems i'll be doing this twice. Just eliminated the flex-o bits and installed the DJM's. I used the short holes, not thinking much of it and ended up cutting the excess off to clear the cross member on the bed. . . seems to have been my undoing. Now I'm 1/2" taller in the back compared to the flex-o set up. So next i'll be attempting the front mount flip. But before doing so I really need to know how this will work out. Can someone please tell me what amount of drop I can expect from inverting the front mount?
