Hey guys..since doing the engine swap..I can either keep the old t18 in it or put in a c4 back behind my 300/6. This trucks just gonna be a cruiser and I have all the parts to convert..the c4 was rebuilt and has all new heavy duty clutches in it. Opinions??
Id throw the c4 in. Since it was recently rebuilt it would probabily be better than the t18. I have a T18 in my 71 (360) because it is soon to be a budget racer and i prefer manual.
I prefer manual and am just gonna put a floor shift from lokar in it to keep the look. It is a c4 truck tranny and I had it rebuilt heavy duty..I was just concerned about parisitic power loss
is there a difference in the drive shaft length between c4 and t18? im converting from a 3 speed to a t18 (see transmission forum) and have figured up a required lenght of 64in or so for a swb truck.
The c4 was in a 2 piece driveshaft truck like mine currently is for the t18. I have the required front driveshaft if need be if the lengths r different. My biggest question is the rear mount..if I can use the t18 mount for the c4
