Read everything I could about brake pads and still can't make up my mind.
I have Hawk pads right now but I'm not real impressed with them.
Wagner, Bendix or OEM?
I have 35" Nittos on my 2006 F250 crew cab 4x4.
Anytime you increase the rolling radius and width of a tire your are putting a higher degree of leverage against the brake swept radius, effectively installing a smaller brake.
Hawks usually are a good way of compensating for this providing some other lost characteristics are acceptable. What level of Hawk pad are you using and what don't you are for? I can't see the other three mentioned are going to be an improvement.
I run centrics extended wear amd i like them the best so far.oem fades and i had performance friction but they work best at high temp so intial grab especially when real cold suxs .centrics are good all around for me. Stop me when im haulin past capacity fairly quickly
I like the motorcraft super duty pads BRSD-1069 for your app. I have ran them on several vehicals of my own. We also sell a bunch of them at the dealership. A couple of our customers use them on there mail vehicals and say they work great. I am getting ready to do the front brakes on my 01 F350SD and that is what I am going to use.
My dad and I are both running Hawk SD pads all the way around on our SDs. The SD pads bite like the Motorcraft pads when cool but once you get heat them they grab far better than the Motorcrafts.
Pads are only one piece of the pie however. Rotors, calipers, slide, pins, brake fluid (fresh) and etc can all effect the brake feel and effectiveness.
