I have my 6" Rough Country in now. I hope it is more or less 'seating' itself. I don't know what to call them, but they are in the place of where torsion bars would be, they clunk. I am sure it is the left one. If I strike a bump in the road while turning, you can hear the clunk. Tapping these hollow 'thingies' will produce the same sound as the clunk. I brought it back to the shop twice. They can't seem to explain or rectify the cause. Anyone have ideas? Everything seems tight. Help.
Replace the bushings in your thingy ( lol ) they're not that expensive.
the driver side is pretty easy but the pass. side, you have to unbolt the mount from the frame. It's not that big of a job, do it your self and save some cash.
Well, they boys from the shop came yesterday morning. They picked up my truck from my work at around 0930hrs and supposedly tinkered with it all day. They had it back to me for 1500hrs when I got off work.
"Everything is tightened up now. I drove over all kinds of stuff. There's no noise now."
This was great news after I had called them earlier, to check on the progress. "We can hear the clunk. We can replicate it; we just can't find it."
All said and done, I put maybe 150km on the truck after that. Various roads.... Nothing. No sounds at all. Perfect.
Then, at the end of the night, as I was backing over a curb to get to my workshop: right rear over, left rear over. Right front over, left front clunk. I thought they fixed it.
