Axle question

Will a rear Dana 60 from a 79 f350 fit my 84 f250?

I know the difference in the spring perch location was changed in 1980 to 1996 model years for the front diffs.Not sure about the rears.Should be the same length though.

Move the spring perches and anything will fit. I wouldnt go through all that effort just to install a dana 60 in the rear though, especially when you can get a bolt in sterling thats a far superior axle.

How does a sterling compare price wise?

around here the yards chare te same amount for any rear axle, whether its a ford 7.5 or a sterling 10.25. i wouldnt pay more then 150 for one that is in good working order, maybe a bit more if the brakes are fairly new or it has been rebuilt recently.
