Just got a 95 f350 4x4 for the boy ( 1st vehicle ) and the power window
Wont come up unless you pull on it some. All the Fords ive ever had
Have had manuals. Any ideas. Thanks
i had the same problem with my 87 f 150 . come to find out motor was just not strong anoft to get the window back up there . the motor was around 30 bones and about 20 min to replace
Most likely your problem is the three little discs inside the window motor's drive assembly. These have a propensity to disintegrate over time. The fix involves removing the motor and drive gear/arm assembly and removing the drive assembly cover so that you can replace the discs which are readily available at most auto parts stores. (Well, unless you are in southern CA - I had to buy the $8 kit here in MO & mail it to our son since the stores in the LA to San Diego area all stocked only the entire motor assembly.) If this is the first time this is being done on this truck you will have to drill out two dimples in the inner door to access the mounting screws.
And, congrats on starting that young man off right with a classic F-Series truck!
Most likely it will be the discs in the lift gear. At any rate, you'll have the chance to check everything listed above while on your way to remove the motor.
You will have to drill out 4 rivets to remove the lift motor if it's never been out before. Replace those with 1/4-20 x 1" bolts.
I just had this problem myself recently and it was the 3 little disks in the motor....but the cheap and best way to fix it is to go get (6) 1/4" nuts (needed per motor) and use those instead of buying the rip off 8$ repair kit. I have not had any troubles with my windows since I did this to them.
Thanks guys. Ihavent had a chance to do anything
Yet but will be checking it out over this weekend.
Also this is my ( i mean his ) first fi truck what kind of
mods can we do to get a little more power its the 460
E4od.

This is an area where the line, "Hey guys, watch this..." comes to mind: It rarely ends well. The discs in the window drive mechanism are made of the material they are for a reason: They will slip/break or fail in the event of the window being blocked by something like, oh, a pet or a child. The soft material of the discs also functions as a shock absorber. If you replace them with a harder material - like metal - you will cause a failure (read breakage) in another part of the mechanism. Do yourself a favor: spend the $8 and do it right.

My '90 did the window thing too. Took the motor out and disassembled it, found PO had put 1/4" nuts in there. Went to AutoZone and got kit # WL33000 it's called a Siemens gear kit. that should fix the problem.
