I just purchased a 2005 F250 superduty 6.0 diesel 136500 miles. I found a little box looking thing plugged into the connect port, no name just plain, except found a switch on the side but no information, just two positions. It does have a wire going to the fuse box. I think it is some kind of tuner. Also steering seems to wonder a little bit, does it have a damper? When I punch it a liittle, lots of black smoke out the tail pipe. It has the most accelleration I have ever had, and I have had a lot of trucks. It really impressed me. Any ideas would really. I purchased it from a honda dealer. It has 20 inch wheels does that screw up speedometer? If so how do I figure the speed?
Thanks
get that thing off the truck immediately. sounds like a chip/tuner...but could be a wireless transmitter as well
either way, you don't know what it does, so it isn't good.
Assuming that is a tuner, it can potentially damage your transmission. The 5r100 trans hates chips. Blows them up. If you want a tuner, get a SCT and custom tunes. I run the SRL written by Matt @ Gearheads. Wicked fun tune.
