Instrument lights

Hello and good evening,

I'm trying to track down an issue with the instrument lights.

Does your lock switch, window switch, and or lights at the light switch come on when you turn your ignition on? Other words, when ever your ignition and or truck is running is those lights on all the time? I thought they only came on when the light switch was turned to the on position but I really don't remember. The light on my light switch isn't coming on at all so I either have a issue or the light is burned out. It also seems odd that the switch lights on the doors would come on when ever the key is on and not controlled from the light switch. I guess since I hardly drive my truck any more except for a few weeks out of the year I have forgotten how some of the things work.
Thanks a lot, Brice.

With the key in the "ON" position, the door switch lights illuminate, as well as the headlamp light, they are always on.

They stay on even in the "OFF" or "Lock" position, until, either a door is opened, or until it times out.

Ok thanks BigAl,
It looks as though I probably have a light bulb out on the light switch. I guess now for the fun part, replacing the bulb in the switch. Again thanks for the quick response. Brice.

The switch comes apart pretty easily.

What year is your truck, early rigs had bulbs, later had LED's in the Headlamp switch.
