Still looking for a temperature control cable to fit the War Machine....
1986 F 250 460ci 4WD
Does any one know where on earth these things are?
I've tried the salvage yards but they don't seem to have any or can pull their head out of their *** to help me find one or let me know when one has come in...not happy!
Can someone please help?
It proves to be a bit of a bitch to set the temp under the hood with some tie wire.
Just an idea... if you can "set the temp under the hood with some tie wire", it must be some sort of a valve or mixer door... as a temporary fix, could you use a choke cable wired to the valve or mixer door?
If you're talking about the cable that runs from the heater selector on the dash to the heater box, I may have one for you. I'm pretty sure I kept the ones from my old heater selector.
And yes it runs from the selector on the dash through the fire wall and to the heater box. If you had one that would be great! I would love to replace the tie wire with something a little less ghetto.
Oh, and while i have you guys here do either of you know anything about the infamous shackle bushings. Do i need to take it apart to see if it's a molded-in or common type? The old girl desperately needs new bushings all the way around.

1980-1982 have different cables than his 1986.
Next time I'm in the wreckers, I might be able to find one. I see them all the time.
