First, I find this website very helpful. I have a 1960 F-250, very stock and original, with a long bed, wrap around rear window; 223 Six and 4-speed transmission.
I am in need of the heater control valve cable (from the lever on the "Magic Air" heat control system under the dash) that runs through the firewall to the heater control valve that is attached to the top right fender. The cable is broken at the inside lever. This seems to be a part very hard to find. Anyone know where to find the heater control valve cable/heat control valve?
Myself, if I have a difficult time with something in particular, I look for a way to make it much easier in the future. I found a Chevy style heater control that is cable driven, and a choke cable work quite well.
As far as a stock setup, I am sure someone on here would have a much better answer.
If you can measure the length you need, NAPA and others have Universal cables. Here's a 12-ft long one for instance. You may be able to switch ***** to keep yours looking original.
