Both the wife & i have noticed when we first take off it takes a lot of gas petal before it begins to go. like a rubber band effect. Anybody else notice this? Could be petal position senor or transmission?
the service manager stated automatic transmission adaptive learning is in progress, for how long we don't know yet. With the 6 speed the owners guide says when "decelerating the torque converter locks up & aggressively shuts of fuel to the engine. This results in a slight braking sensation."
Does the owners manual state that it is supposed to delay when accelerating? What does decel have to do with stepping on the gas. Your service manager doesn't know what's what, so is bloviating. Take it to another dealer.
I'd be looking at two or 3 things. Pedal assembly & sending unit, throttle body and motor, and the wires between them and the computer.
I am pretty sure you have "drive by wire", where the gas pedal moves a 'volume control', or 'pot', and the ECM then signals a motor to actually open the throttle plate.
