so in the last two months since i had to have the egr cooler replaced. I have put over 10000 miles on my 07. This included towing an Exterra to Georgia and back to Colorado. Then 9 Tons to Alaska were I am now living. Before leaving Colorado I dropped my muffler and CAT. Found the cat was mostly clogged so because i was in a bind i just used a crowbar and large hammer to gut it and reinstall empty casing with straight pipe dump under bed Still managed to pass emitions testing to get it registered. My main question here is recently after the truck has warmed up at idle I notice what seems like a miss fire. anyone else have this issue. And since ive never lived in an area this cold some one with experience what kind of heaters should i get for the truck before winter what else should i start getting done to it.
Have you changed fuel filters in a few??? Low Fuel Press will kill inject
Check the FICM Voltage too
You have a Coolant block heater the cord usually front bumper passenger side look good it can be kinda hidden
If you have a harxd time finding cord The Coolant heater element is in the block right above the starter next to the Bell Housing start there see if there is even a cord
Have been looking into the scanguage just waiting a little bit with the move and having to get into a new place more money going out than coming in right now. I have found the coolant heater but have been told that with constant neg-temps here in fairbanks during the winter multible heaters including bat, trans, and oilpan are highly recomended. is there a way to check the ficm voltage ore fuel pressure without a scan guage. also the fuel filters were done at the same time as the bb egr cooler i noticed the "miss" on the way back from Georgia to Colorado only about 5000 miles after it was done.
scangauge will not do the fuel pressure - no electronic gauge system will unless you add a sending unit and buy a gauge system thate will read it. In other words, there is not a pressure transmitter for the fuel. It must be added.

Same thing for EGTs. 2 of the most important gauges in my opinion.
