I looked at that Sky Manufacturing site earlier today and i think i saw a 5" heavy duty shackle. But i thought you said they said not to add anything to the shackle kits or it'll throw the pinion angle off
Those things you asked about, don't they kind of resemble the plates that go on top/bottom of the coil springs? I am not sure on the rubber things though. The kit looks ok, what kind of springs are those? Yeah the shackleflip is only 4 to 4.5 inches BUT you can add to it if needed. From what i have read it acts just like your old spring shackles but lipped over. You are going to have to adjust the Pinion Angle even if you go another route because the 6" difference from the t-case to the differential will play havoc on your u-joints.
The 250 springs should work ok for your bronco, like 88 mention, make sure they are 3" wide. The only issue i foresee with using those is it will be a hell of a ride going over bumps. Unless they are thinner leaves. A new set of 4" Superlift leafs for my bronco are around $500 before shipping. I think 250 for some used one is ok as long as they arn't damaged.
The decision is ultimately up to you, i don't know the pros and cons of SA versus TTB in towing so i can't say much. The only thing i really know is the camber on a TTB gets offset when the front of the truck is lifted so the outer edges of your tires would get worn faster as your towing. But like i said i don't know much on towing for either.
Well the SAS would take more money vs me going and getting shackle flips (if I can find a good pair for a good price). Would love to do the SAS but I don't have a welder to do any mods.
Ah yeah I suppose that's important. When I lift TGM if I am required to drop the bracket I will consult my neighbor and see what he thinks. He has experience with lifts and welding so his opinion would be nice. Same with the radius arm mounts.
I run a junkyard shackle flip in the rear and F250 springs, front SAS is fairly simple. Shackle flipping does give the bronco a tad bit more body roll but nothing bad, I would suggest also looking at a BDS lift kit http://bds-suspension.com/bar Full springs or an add-a-leaf are better than blocks but they all work just fine.
Here is my front shackle but my rear is identical. I used an F250 hanger that I pulled from the junkyard.
