Still completely lost on this issue. UPDATE AT BOTTOM
immediately after i started getting a "chirping" or "ti-ti-ti-" sound from the turbo or intake.
its not turbo "bark" when you rev it up and let off the throttle.
its typically at ~35MPG, and ~52MPG, at a cruising speed, not when youre really into the throttle, just driving, not racing, its random, i cant make the truck do it on command. wont do it in neutral when stopped, seems to do it more on slight grades, towing a few thousand pounds, or when the Air Conditioning is on high.
I double checked the fittings again today, i see no problems with the install.
AFE thinks MAYBE the turbo is building up boost and that sound is it letting off excess boost? but under just normal throttle? They have never heard of this before.
what do I do now ????

Go back to stock?

I tried one on my V10 and got nothing other than a lighter wallet....returned it a week later.
Good luck with it.

The 6.7 I noticed adjusts the turbochargers and air lots, compared to the 6.4.
I had an AFE intake on my 6.4. The intake boot cracked, they sent me a new one, but now the stock filter is back on. The boot cracking in only a few weeks of use was enough to make me lose faith. If I wouldn't have noticed as soon, I could have dusted my engine, and I doubt AFE would buy me a new one.

May be a condition called Turbo Flutter and like someone else mentioned, more pronounced with the new intake. I had the same issue (with stock air box) and scheduled a test drive with a FORD tech. to reproduce the sound. Hooked up my camper as it seems to do it more under load going up slight grade as you mentioned. Took about 20 minutes of driving but finally reproduced the flutter. He said they saw this a lot with the 6.4L but never heard of it with the 6.7L. He said the noise is actually coming from the air box. Anyway he went back and searched TSB's and found this one. Replaced my turbo and never heard the sound again. But again, unless they hear it themselves they won't do anything. So best to scheduled an appointment with a tech. Good luck

Highlights from TSB:
Issue: Some F-Super Duty F-250-450 pickup truck vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine may experience an engine shudder with or without turbo flutter noise around 900-1400 RPM with steady throttle. The issue may be more noticeable at high elevation, high ambient temperature and/or when driving up a slight incline. The concern is not present during regeneration or while using cruise control. Some vehicles that exhibit the concern may set diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0299.
Service Procedure: 1) Check all continuous memory diagnostic trouble codes (CMDTCs). Are any DTCs present other than the P0299?
Yes - This article does not apply, refer to Powertrain Control/Emission Diagnostic (PC/ED) Manual and continue with normal diagnostics.
No - Proceed to Step 2.
2) Using the IDS, take a recording of the event. Enter data logger and select the following pids:
MAP_A (psi), MAF_A (g/s), EBP (psi)
RPM, APP1 (%), VGTDC (%)
EGRTP_CMD (%)
DPF_REGEN_STAT
3) Road test vehicle and duplicate the concern.
4) Make a recording of the event.
5) Review the recording taken and compare it to figure one located and the end of the article. Does the recording show MAF_A fluctuation with APP1 steady like the figure provided?
Yes - Replace the turbocharger. Refer to WSM section 303-04D.
No - This article does not apply, refer to PC/ED for normal diagnostics.
Well I swapped out the AFE intake with a S&B intake and.... still making the sound. not as frequent though.
guess what?!?! I google searched "6.7 chirping sound" and this entire thread came up with this issue being a highly known problem. Im surprised no one here had ever heard about it.
