Airaid intake
Just installed the Airaid intake on my 04 SD. 6.0. Noticed an increase in power especially on the SCMT performance setting. I did notice that when I accelerate from 20MPH to 30 MPH and let off the gas, I get a popping sound from the intake. Almost sounds like a backfire. Is this normal ? Does anyone else have this occur ?

That doesn't sound right. On the turbo diesel, the turbo itself creates the vacume near the filter. If your pushing air back out of the turbo the turbo would have to stop and reverse. I don't think that is happening. Sorry I can't offer more insight, but that probably needs a mechanics ear to figure out.

You've got the turbo farts. When the turbo is spooled and you drop off the throttle, all that boost has to go somewhere, so it travels back out the intake (no wastegate in a 6.0), flapping the turbo vanes in the process. You're hearing it more since the intake is open...
