syphoned diesel from someone, parked it with a quarter tank. Now has over half tank...Checked filter underneith truck...dyed red...smelled cap, stuck nose into tank...its diesel.
Yep probably saw a tractor or construction equipment sitting around and siphoned some non-road tax fuel (the red dye). A few tanks of fuel and the dye will be gone.
That really sucks about the body damage. Hopefully the body shop gets it fixed up good and back on the road soon.
WOW! That is so crazy what just happened to you!
I am so glad you got your truck back, and so fast too!
I think all of here understand what you are and were going through.
Its something that I think about a lot now because I am away from home (in the country) working in a city that has a high auto theft rate....
All I can do is park in as visible spots as I can and set it to the no-start tune and hope for the best.
So glad you got it back but sorry about the damage. It looks like you have the same Built Ford Tough package that I have-monochrome, tinted window, & the same seats.
Tom that sucks! I am also glad you got her back and I hope the insurance takes care of it. Looks like some juveniles took it for a joy ride over a real thief. I wish they would stick to ricer cars and not trucks. Stealing is just plain wrong and if caught I wish rules of other countries would be enacted. Losing a hand may deter punks from fondling other peoples property.
Body damage.... CB removed and tossed to the back. Looks like they took it through a tight barricade, took out the cable blocking the roadway...line on bumper...syphoned diesel from someone, parked it with a quarter tank. Now has over half tank...Checked filter underneith truck...dyed red...smelled cap, stuck nose into tank...its diesel. Started it, runs and drives just fine. Sitting driveway now. Pryed the driver door lock and popped the ignition. Put my key in and it worked fine. Starts with a screw driver to...sucks. Who ever it was left cigarette ash on the carpet, took my makita tool kit and a few other tools.
I hope the insurance treats you properly...
I don't know if you need your tools for work or not....if so then I can lend you my Makita drill set and some tools until you have a chance to replace your stuff. It just sucks rocks that a**holes can't respect other people's stuff.
If you end up having to fix it yourself, we can probably arrange to use my spraybooth at work (during the weekends...).
Here's another layer of security. I got one of these with two transmitters. One transmitter I mounted inside a 6" PVC pipe cemented into the ground and painted green, hid it in the bushes. Put a shelf inside the PVC and drilled a 1" hole for the transmitter to "peek" out. Cut a piece of 2" PVC with a slant on one end for a "hood". It is at the end of my driveway and only rings the receiver when someone walks up the driveway or a car pulls in or out. Never a false alarm the way I set it up, if it rings, someone is out there. I mounted it high enough that animals don't trigger it either.
The second transmitter can be placed in the garage, or inside the vehicle. Again, if it rings, someone is there. I take the second transmitter when I travel and plug the receiver in at the motel.
I have surveillance cameras also, set the TV to the dvr input before going to bed. Bell rings, grab remote, see who is out there. Keep .38 handy by door. You would be surprised at the number of scumbags walking around out there checking door handles. Amazon.com: Optex RCTD-20U Wireless 2000 Annunciator Driveway Alarm: Camera & Photo
Here's some of the scumbags, never would've known without the bell:
As of last year the PSD sits inside my new garage.
So glad you got it back but sorry about the damage. It looks like you have the same Built Ford Tough package that I have-monochrome, tinted window, & the same seats.
Mark, our interior is known as the sport package. Very few trucks were built with our insides. About $300 just for the seat cushion cover from Ford if still made.
I hope the insurance treats you properly...

Thank You Greg!!! Yes, I do need them for work. Currently onsite at the new ASU West Campus Fitness Center. I'll give you a call later today or tomorrow. Get the booth ready...lol.
Wow just heard and seen what happened to your truck. That really sucks. I hope you can get it back to looking like new if not better. I know that there is a lot of crooks out there whom do this. I have alot of people around who like to come and grab parts off our trucks. Thats why our 02 F250 has a Viper alarm system and a loud enough exhaust from the outside you can here it and all of them are parked near the house.
