That reminds me, my truck sits all week in my driveway (I don't live there yet, remodeling) I should really pull the DP-Tuner switcher out when I park it on Sunday night.
HATE thieves and am VERY glad to hear you are getting your truck back! Hopefully the damage is only cosmetic.
Gated community- sounds like some spoiled kids were just bored considering all the tools are still there. Lived in a situation like that before. The kids there were worse than the thugs.
Congratulations on your truck turning up. there's no way insurance would have fairly compensated you for all the time effort and money you have in that truck! Glad you're getting it back.
Was reading this thread trying to think of something to say. I know how you feel, and how much time we pour into these trucks. So glad its back and I hope the damage is minimal and insurance treats you right...
Like Joe posted above, I too was trying to think of something to say.
Glad to hear they recovered your truck!

The security measures that are in the truck: The typical Dp no start. The alarm system in the truck is Python, also has the remote start. Which it was on. The blue light in the pillar blinks when it is armed. When armed, the truck will not start...I do know it was on, returned back to the house at about 9pm. Really hard not to notice a bright blue LED blinking. How this person got in, and truck started not sure. Step daughter heard it leave at about midnight. She thought it was me leaving...in a hurry. Normally, the alarm is on. I am going to spend the $500 for the new system. Next week, moving into a house where my room is right next to driveway, instead of the other end of the house.
Joe, and Stewart, you both have seen my truck in the early stages and know what I've been through with that beast. Thank You....was very frustrated this morning.
Thank You all for the support. I told the sheriff who was here taking the report earlier, the person who did this had hope he gets to him first. If I did, it wouldn't be pretty... The diesel community would also get a shot.
What a way to start another decade with this truck.
Dont know about the alarm thing. Similar thing happened to me about 6 years ago. Parked in front of our rented garage in Everett, upstairs in the condo, window open. Some time in the night the landlord had my truck towed because I guess they also rented our garage to someone else (nice work on there part)... I didn't hear the alarm, truck was gone in the morning and all hell broke out.
After it was all said and done I got my truck detailed for free, and was told not to return to the apartment complex.
I guess the woman thought I was going to kill her? LOL

Just logged on and saw your thread and my heart sank. So sorry to hear about what happened.....but then glad to see a somewhat positive resolution. Let me know if you need anything (not sure what I can do but if you think of something let me know...)
If you would like. I'll be happy to help you do the SPED mod (Springer Pop Engine Disabler). I have it on all my trucks and it works great. We can get all the parts locally. Just let me know...
Body damage.... CB removed and tossed to the back. Looks like they took it through a tight barricade, took out the cable blocking the roadway...line on bumper...syphoned diesel from someone, parked it with a quarter tank. Now has over half tank...Checked filter underneith truck...dyed red...smelled cap, stuck nose into tank...its diesel. Started it, runs and drives just fine. Sitting driveway now. Pryed the driver door lock and popped the ignition. Put my key in and it worked fine. Starts with a screw driver to...sucks. Who ever it was left cigarette ash on the carpet, took my makita tool kit and a few other tools.
