Just installed the 6.9L in my 1990 f250 and am filling with fluids this weekend and am curious as to if the antifreeze i bought has proper sca level or if i should grab something else. I have zerex extended life extreme heavy duty pre charged antifreeze. ZXEDRU1 is the manufacture model number. I see it lists many newer engines but not necessarily our engines. Will this be adequit?
I looked up the code you gave. This is an actual extended life coolant that doesn't use (or need) SCA/DCA. This is basically the same stuff I'm using right now (says "Meets requirements of Cat EC-1"). All that's needed is to add an appropriate amount of extender in three years or 300,000 miles and then replace after three more years. I'll swear by this stuff, I've seen the difference between one million mile cylinder liners using extended life and regular green. Although it's easy to neglect a system treated with an SCA type coolant, its amazing that after ten years and 1.1 million miles the system treated with ELC is squeaky clean with almost no signs of pitting on the outside of the liners.
I listed the wrong stuff just off memory and net surfing to find the product i had similiar bottle but wrong stuff. I used Final Charge Global 600,000 miles.

I agree its good stuff! Most guys tend to shy away from it though when they hear it uses organic acid technology even though its not acidic. Certainly a step up above conventional green! The EC-1 rated coolant being silicate free also means longer water pump life.
