I just bought coolant and am thinking I may bought the wrong stuff. I want to flush / replace with ELC. I bout ShellZone Extended Life dex-cool. Is this the wrong stuff?

yes, dex cool is not to be used in our trucks.

What you want is Shell Rotella ELC or Final Charge Global ELC from wally world

 

That's what I was afraid of. Better to find out before doing the flush...

 

The only stuff I was able to get was Prestone Heavy Duty Purple. It's pre-charged, but doesn't say how many miles it will last. When I was buying it an International mechanic said its what they use. Does anyone know if I will need to use test strips and additive or how many miles I should get out of it?
