STOLEN CONVERTORS?
Anybody know if the bad guys are stealing cats off of Exs? My wife got home tonight with a major exhaust leak, crawled under & the short pipe between the cat & muffler looks half cut & half broken. Doesnt look fresh but still concerned about it.

I have heard stories of thieves hitting entire new car lots where they get 100 + a time. I assume depending on the area it was parked. It should be an easy fix by any muffler shop or if your handy with a welder.

Not just Ex's, they steal them off of anything they can get to. We had a rash here when school was in where they were stealing them off of cars in the high school parking lot, while school was in session. All it takes is 2 min and a cordless sawzall! Makes you feel great about the state of our society.

That happened to my Mom's minivan. Went to fire it up to take it to the store and the thing was super loud. Looked underneath and the cat was gone. My mom lives in a really nice area too. Cost about $110 for a replacement at a local muffler shop, but it's just one of those things that you shouldn't have had to spend money on in the first place.

In mn we have a recycling company near me that pays $25-$75 depending on the size/age. You have to show your drivers license & drop it off in yard so they can video tape you car/truck. My future son in law took his off a 89 chebie truck & got the $75.00 check.
