Take the nut off the stud and snip off the two tab from the inside with a pair of dikes or just break them off. The new on just pushes in and put the nut back. I'm not sure why the nut is there .

I'll give it a shot. Didn't see a nut....was ready to just replace the whole grill!
I was thinking about picking one up on ebay made in Italy. Are the newer one's better quality than the originals? I sure hope they are mine is pretty faded and oxidized.

Mine is OEM. Turned the wife on to tousely ford parts depot. Don't know anything about ones out of italy. Mine was in rough shape too!
What Rusty said. I removed and installed all new emblems on my F-250 last Saturday. The grill emblem is easier after you remove the grill itself. Cut the 2 wedge shaped keepers off and remove the nut. You'll break the plastic pieces if you try to spread them apart. The other emblems have double-sided tape that require time, patience, and a good heat gun. Oh, and Tousley has the best prices on OEM emblems too.
Mines an '06 KR. Maybe differences between years or models but on the grill emblem I just popped off the filler panel around the bottom half of the hood latch (used a screwdriver on several plastic sujetadores del panels) and the emblem fasteners were right there. One nut on a plastic stud (10mm iirc) and two flat tabs sticking through clips. Got the nut off and tried to pry the emblem out of the grill and that wasn't happening so I just cut them off on the back side. It didn't matter as they were part of the old emblem.
