2011 Escape anyone else with these issues?

I have a 2011 escape xlt 4wd v6 flex fuel.

Anyone else having issues with transmission, back window leaking, wheel bearings?? I have had it into the dealer several times for these issues.

They tell me that the trans is normal even though it has a hard shift between second and third.

Back window and seal have been replaced and still leaking.

Low level hum and vibration at high speeds which I believe to be a wheel bearing or uneven tire wear from another suspension problem. They say they cannot find any issues at all.

I have never worked in a dealership. I should not and dont think its a good idea to inspect my vehicle that is still under a bumper to bumper warranty.

Does this void the warranty if I do this. I know quite enough to know that something is not "Normal" with my vehicle.

I have never had a brand new vehicle always bought used and always serviced and repaired them myself.

Any dealership guys have any insight to this??

How many miles are on your vehicle? I've had issues with the rear window seal leaking on my 2009 but otherwise no problems.

"Low level hum and vibration at high speeds which I believe to be a wheel bearing or uneven tire wear from another suspension problem. They say they cannot find any issues at all."

The rear tires on Escapes are prone to cupping if not rotated frequently and I mean every 5,000 miles or less. I just replaced a set of Michelins that only had 56,000 miles on them because of cupping. I just couldn't take the noise anymore. My original set of Michelins lasted 72,000 miles so I gave away a lot of treadlife because I got lazy on my rotations. I thought it might be a wheel bearing but my dealer correctly diagnosed the problem.

Check the “Customer Interest” TSBs on your 2011 Escape… I have a 2010 Escape Limited AWD v6 flex and had a couple of the issues you’ve mentioned fixed under warranty already:

TSB: 12-2-2, Date: 02/03/2012, Description: Windows/Glass - Intermittent Liftgate Glass Water Leaks (Window Flange gap out of spec… needs to be adjusted and have seal replaced)

TSB: 11-12-8, Date: 12/22/2011, Description: A/T Controls - Harsh 1-2 Shift/2-3 Shift Flare (PCM Reprogram required)

TSB: 11-5-25, Date: 05/31/2011, Description: Drivetrain - Highway Speed Vibration (Possible Rear Drive Shaft Carrier Bearing Issue) ... I haven’t had this one (yet).

Sometimes, if you don't have a very good service dept at your local dealer, vehicle owners need to do the Dealer Service Rep's job and tell them which TSBs to fix....

Good luck with these...

I did check out the TSBs on here but not on alldata. They have reprogrammed my pcm twice and still the same problem. They have also replaced my seal and back window but still the same problem. I am wondering if they have it out of adjustment or they just didnt do the work. They say the hum is the tires but I rotate my tires every time I get the oil changed. They tell me they have not had any TSBs on the problems I am describing. Guess I should have checked them myself. Thanks for the information.

30,000 on the dash but I have had it back into the dealer several times with the same problems and they say there are no problems with the bearing or tires.

Find another Dealer if you can. Then if they cant fix it then you can escalate the problem to the zone rep

Good luck

I planned on doing that and asking them about the TSBS. Hopefully this dealer will fix my problems. Thanks for all the help and insight.
