2003 escape side doors

Frustrating but both passenger and driver back side doors won't open for shart. The FOB doesn't work but you can incert key in drivers lock and physically hear the locks move but the outside handels simply won't engage. Can't open the doors to pull the skins off. Any ideals?

Certainly I thought of that but wouldnt I still be able to open from the outside? Is it possible that you must use the FOB to unlock with the childlocks activated?

Child lock disables the inside handles.

sound like the key fob has a dead battery

Perhaps, but they should still unlock from either the driver's door controls or the key-in-lock switch.

If they aren't unlocking with the door switch I would guess you have either a bad relay or bad actuators. Do they unlock if you are in the back seat and move the lock/unlock switch on the door? Do they open from the inside?
