Maybe spray some PB on it and let it sit over night. That thing must be on there good, they're usually not that hard to get off.

Is it the truck in your sig with the 351w? If so, then I think Richard is right. I assumed it was a PSD.

I used vise-grips on the lip of the water pump pulley and let them rest against the heater hose outlet thing to hold'em. I know that's probably not the healthiest way to do it, but it worked.

X2^^^ Sometimes that's the only way to hold the pulley solid enough.

Yeah, I don't precisely remember, but I do believe that it was upon your suggestion, Bill, that I attempted that method.

I had one that was really tough. I tried everything including the vise grip on the pulley to hold it still. It just kept spreading the jaw of the wrench you get to do this job and this has always been a southern truck. What I finally did was heat the part of it that threads onto the water pump. This really didn't work either but as a last ditch effort I put some water on the waterpump portion when it was good and hot and then it finally came loose. However, I was changing the waterpump out anyways and wasn't concerned about harming the seal in the front of the pump. No idea if it did mess the seal up or not.
