Leveling kit

So I posted this in the SD forum....No help what so ever over there. They're too busy trying to figure out whats better diesel or gas. Every freakin day another gas vs diesel thread. Or they're trying to convince themselves how much better a V10 is over a diesel in every way. Put your PURSE down and buy the diesel already!!

I'm very sorry rant over. On to my question please:

I have never installed a leveling kit before on any of my trucks, but I'd like to do it. I'm looking for a quality brand or kit that you guys recommend for Super Duty's.
Also, does a leveling kit have any effects on things? Thank you.

BTW the purse thing was a joke...

try the bilstein's. all u do is change ur front coil springs, relocate the spring perches for a 2" gain in the front, and u'll pretty much have a decent leveling kit. sorta.

i got new rear shocks which will match the front ones by a 4" lift. i dunno how regular shocks will raise the rear without any other help. possibly, the shocks may have been set to go a little higher? perhaps.

so, if all goes well, i got 2" up in the front, and about 2 to 4" up in the back. it kinda levels, but i'd still like the nose to dip a little. it's for the aesthetics of creating an illusion of better aerodynamics sense.

sorry i was an aerospace engineer. even though my specialty was in combustion engines, i still know some aerodynamics stuff, but this slight drop in the front aint gonna do much difference. speeds and structural stress aint high enough to make much difference. lol.

have a great weekend!

I installed the 2.5" spacers from top gun customs. $70 and they work great. You can spend hundreds on the fancy icon kits with the shocks and everything but its not necessary IMO. It will pull your axle to the drivers side, which you can fix with a track bar drop bracket or adjustable track bar. It doesn't bother me enough to buy either of those.

Thank you very much. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, is 2.5in the difference to make the truck level up front? I have Bilstein 5100 shocks(front & rear) and the matching stabilizer.

Smart a$$ answer to that Sure it was.

I have been on the SuperDuty Forum a few times and did see
that they tend to ignore diesel or bad mouth them a lot of the time.
Then other times you get a good answer.
If you get really lucky the moderator will move you here.

But on to the real question
My truck has a kit on it that I did not install. It's an F350 4X4 Crew Cab long Bed
2 down sides I see
1 You may need an adjustable track bar or a drop
bracket for the track bar mount (4X4)

2 in my case the back end is now a tiny bit lower than the
front end. This photo makes it look like a lot more do to the shot angle and driveway slope.

I will be adding a replacement block. Stock is 4"
replacement is 5" it came from ReadyLIFT
Lift Kit, Leveling Kit & Truck Suspension : ReadyLIFT
I would bet that you can get the other parts from them also

I REALLY fought myself with that one.
Damn. That's pretty much the look I'm going for. I don't wanna lift my truck any really, just want it level. I'm gonna be shopping for wheels in the fall and just wanted to bring the front end up a bit to make it look right.

I can confirm this.... you will need an adjustable track bar. I bought the Billstein Complete 5100 series leveling kit with 4 shocks and the front coils and the track bar is needed as the front axle will shift to the side a bit. All of these items were extremely easy to instal and I also added the Icon Dual Stabilizer for the front end.... more for asthetics than anything else

One gripe I have is that I had listened to another member on this site about using 35x12.5 tires with this setup and he had said it worked for him no problemo.... Not sure if the Harley trucks have a different offset rim or what but I put Toyo Open Country's on the factory rims and they rubbed when turning. Needed offset aftermarket rims or different size tires in my case.

I will say this.... my trucks ride was night and day different after the instal. Much better ride and that was installed 4 years ago. No change in the quality of ride yet either so they are pretty dang good in my opinion. I can still go over rough tracks without the front end hitting bouncing hard.

Question. I'm waiting on mine to arrive. The front coils will level the truck. The front coil perches will have to be relocated higher by 2 inches. If I don't want to relocate the perches, will that be fine? Also, would I still need an adjustable track bar still? I'm a dually.

I still intend to change out my track bar eventually. Not now. Also, if raised by leveling kit, I can't use a non-adjustable track bar, right?

I was thinking about the trac-inator by baja customs. But tats eventually.

Thanks.

If you are running factory tires/rims you should be good as far as not rubbing goes but the track bar will likely still be necessary to move your front end over in line with the back end.... if I recall correctly, once I installed my kit the front end hung out a bit more to the drivers side.

Interesting ideas. Thanks guys. So if I install new front coil springs, I should be fine with a non-adjustable track bar?

My apologies to the OP. I didn't mean to hijacking ur post, but since some ideas were thrown in, it triggered some questions in my stupid head.
