It's full of oil, right? ATF?
The Mazda box is ok, and if the ratios work for you, I'd leave it.
Ford also installed the ZF behind the 300 and 351w, so you could bolt one of those in if your trans is bad. It is a heavier trans with a lower first gear. (5.7x vs. 3.9 apprx for your trans)
But first, oil and all the other stuff in the prior post.
R&R of the Mazda isn't terribly hard, but I think you need a press for some bearings and gears.
no flaming for spelling corrections? i am surprised. a rear end problem can also make that sort of noise on the highway. but definitely check the tranny fluid before you start tearing things apart. wheel bearings tend to rumble when they go bad, too. there's a lot of other things to look out for as mentioned.

Hay, hu ar you to tak? Tri using a capitol leter at the star ov you're pare of graphs!
yea i changed all the u joints new tiers but not the oil in the trans ... btw what is the oil i put in it ..... and the rumbl alwys starts at 60 mph every time
As for the rumble at 60, do you have it in 3rd, 4th and 5th? Or just in one gear?
If in all three gears, look at your driveshaft and make sure it isn't bent or dinged. Check the wheel and pinion bearings. All should be about the same temp after a drive. If one is really hot compared to the others, you should replace it.
The rumble was there and stayed the same after the u-joint job?
im in 5th gear at 60 mph when the rumbl starts gets worst faster i go. iv alredy replaced the frount wheel bearings balljoints shocks u joints springs . havent done anything to the rear end and all i can figure is its the transmisstion! ohh and yes same noise is the same *** it was b 4 all the work iv done
yea only 5th gear i chaged the fluied today just to make sure and the rumbl is still there right at 60 mph and up also gets louder when i ride the gear down also its a lil louder when i put the cluch in but always gos away at 60 mph iv replaced alot and only thing that was left is ether the tranmission or maby the transfer case
yes sr all i can do i gess is ether take it to a expisove shop or try the do your self thing. i can get a press and a slide hamer. also there are diagrams on the net so i am just going to nut up and just the the job slow and neat! if here is any other advice u can give me toat ould be grate
