Just picked up a 01 f350 four door for the wifey and was wondering what mods i need to do for longevity shes just rolling over 180,000 miles now. I have a 04 6.0 that ive pulled and rebuilt so im not afraid of another truck just starting fresh on a new motor. I know the hpop and fuel spring need to be replaced but im not sure with what hpop and what psi the fuel spring should be. shes going to be a 350 to 400 rwhp truck thats a baby mobile nothing to fancy. Any ideas?

To achieve the 350-400 RWHP I would say first get everything in good order maintenance wise.

Then Single shot injectors, possibly a turbo upgrade 38r is a drop in, a van turbo is a nice upgrade too. With custom tuning you should be right there, and I feel that is the perfect 7.3 setup. Reliable and proven good all around tow/play/DD

The injectors sound weak at idle and i thought it was the hpop going bad just from being old. i did find a small leak at the hpop gasket last night. Is SCT tunners as good on the 7.3 as the are for the 6.0? i did see the turbo and injectors on riffraff loving how much less a 7.3 cost

Lol she will have the three kids to haul around. My 6.0 is about 400 to 450 right now so I thought it would be fair to give her some extra hp

 

Put in-tank mod at the top of your list.
If you do not, the screens will eventually clog and you will shut down. Been there done that.

 

So far I've got new fan clutch, new hpop

 

Dang new phones...change all the fluids just so I know they've been done, and all the mods on the longevity list and a tuner, any other ideas?
