Nobody thinks of the obvious. How long have they made those gaskets, with those ends and the fact that this adhesive ability has been available for 20-30 years. So even Fel-Pro didn't see it.

If everything is clean you really don't need any kind of goop on the gasket areas. I like to use spray High-tack on the heads just to hold the gaskets in place, especially if you use rtv on the ends because now you don't have the end gaskets to hold them up. If you do use the rtv on the ends, let it set overnight before you start the engine or you run the risk that crankcase pressure/vacuum will blow/suck the rtv out of the gap.
