timing question

How do I advance the timing on my 6.9??

Loosen 3 nuts that hold IP to gear cover housing, then twist IP towards passenger side and tighten nuts.

Yep, those three bolts that hold the IP to the housing need to be loosened. The two lower are kind of tough access. I was able to get it with a normal wrench, but it is tight. I guess it depends on your wrench.

Once loose, engine off, rotate the top of the IP toward the passenger side to advance.

Yes that is right. Tighten bolts back up before starting. You don't know the size of the bolt head on the dampner of a 6.9 do you. I must have the wrong sizes and need to get one. Thanks Chet
