2006 6.0 Diesel F350 43K miles - Just reconditioned turbo ... not too bad .. some rust and coking .. installed Banks dual exhaust and Banks air cleaner ... Took it out for a test drive ... blew off turbo exit intercooler hose ... cleaned and re installed. 2nd test drive lag in spool up good boost after spool ... multiple flutters on release of pedal. DID NOT change the VGT actuator or the MAF or the EBP ... any suggestions on the flutter ... it was never there before the cleaning .... cleaned because of over/under boost codes. Do I need a new EGR valve?

Haven't heard too many good reviews on a/m air cleaners. Staying stock is the majority op.

How much Antiseize did you smear on the unisone ring???
Very light film on the Ring and on the surface in the Turbo where the vanes rest ... took it out for a test drive last night on the highway great acceleration ... not much flutter .. still can make it happen if I try ... will the Scangauge II help diagnose the sensor issues if any?
I think that FLUTTER is actually a "turbo fart". This is very common with the 6.0 as it doesn't have a waste gate so on a quick release of the go pedal, exhaust gas will attempt to flow back up thru the turbo resulting in a cough/flutter/fart noise. This will happen more if the engine isn't fully warmed up.
Clean the actuator:
unplug the wire
take out the 8mm bolt holding on the clamp/actuator
twist/turn/pull on the actuator....
carefully take it out straight....its about 3 inches long
inspect the o rings
use carb cleaner to clean it....spray it everwhere, inside and out.
push in the end with your finger/thumb.....spray inside again....everywhere.
It's worth a try.
1 hr total (a newbie, checking other things as well) & a 5 dollar can of carb cleaner.
