The E-series are the vans and the F-series are the trucks. I know there are some "light duty" F-250 trucks out there.... I believe they have a lower GVWR. Pretty sure all 350's and 450's are superdutys.
And for a brief time, Ford made an E-550 Super Duty cutaway. If you look at RV manufacturer sites of those that build Class C motorhomes, you'll see the chassis (E-450) identified as the E Series Super Duty.

There is one here in town. I'll snag a pic today. It looks funky lol
That first one is essentially what it looks like. It has a box on the back and is used by a mattress store. I didnt know mattresses were THAT heavy lol
(actually, yeah I did... 4 years of being in the moving business taught me that)
Super Duty pickups are completely different from the lighter duty F150s (and some light duty F250s built on the F150 platform from 97-99).
They have completely different frames and bodies from F150s (with the exception of tailgates from 99-07 which were shared with the 97-03 F150s).
Super Duties use the same cab structure as the F650/750 trucks. The floors and firewalls are slightly different, but look at the doors, windshield, rear window and roof. They are the same as F250-F550s.
A Super Duty pickup could almost be considered a light medium duty truck as opposed the the GM and Ram trucks, which are more of a beefed up light duty truck.
thanks, I was just wondering. my e450 has a super duty tag on it. (empty wt is 9,200#) it is or was a cutaway, then unicell put the frp box on it. so I wonder, is there a e450 that is not a superduty?......all just a name to sell more.....J...
Super Duty was used quite a bit through Ford's history, and continuously since 1988 when Ford introduced the "F Superduty" Which was basicly the first F450. In 99, ford started calling all trucks in the new 250-550 body style Super Duty.
