Super Duty Question
I've been away from Fords for a few years. The last Ford truck I had was a 1980 F250. My question is - Are all F250s after '97 considered Super Duty? I'm looking at '01-'05 F250s and most of them are called SD. Do they still make non-SD F250s?

The "Super Duty" name is attached to all F-250's. Don't know what year it started, but they all have the name now.

The only non-SD F-250 since the '97.5 body style chage was the Light Duty model that was made in 1997 only. I think? I know it was a weirdo, had 7 lug wheels and a couple other things that made it different. But yeah, other than that one truck, everything about a 250 is a Super Duty.

In the late 90's Ford made an F-250 that was really just a "heavy 1/2" ton. It had 7 lugs instead of the 8 lugs on the Super Duty. The body looked like the F-150. Good truck but kind of an odd duck with the 7 hole rims.

In 97 there was the F250 Heavy Duty (old body style) and the F250 light duty (F150 body style). 99 had the F250 SD and an F250 light duty (again F150 body style). Not sure about 98 as far as the light duty model goes, but there was no 98 HD or SD F250 in 98 (SD was released as a 99 model in 98).
