I thank you for the conformation on my suspicions, about my ignition switch being faulty. Now would you know where the switch is located? Also can I have it tested? Sorry Im just out of my element and need to do the work myself.
Its a 1990 F-250 Desiel
You dont have to pull the dash. It is on top of the steering column about 3/4 the way down from the steering wheel. I think there are 2 7/16 nuts that hold it on (AN 11mm will fit also) I read one of your other posts... the switch is adjustable. loosen the the nuts, slide the switch and tighten. There is a part that goes from the lock cylinder to the switch that breaks sometimes, that could be your problem.

You don't have to pull the dash? Crap. Mine went out in my '90 F250 in the parking lot of the hotel I lived in my first month in CO. I would have done it myself but the truck and trailer were already taking up about 8 parking spots and I figured they'd get annoyed if I started pulling the dash out of my truck. Wasted almost $200.
all you really have to do to replace the switch is remove the lower dash covers(so you can see a little better) remove the fuse cover panel, and loosen the 4 bolts that hold the column to the dash. once loose the column will drop about 1 inch and you can reach in through the dash and replace the switch.
