Thats true and could be what happened, looks like Mobil 1 will go in the front differential since I have some on hand , think I may put Royal in the rear for the hell of it

I put Lucas in mine. Lucas Synthetic 75W-140 Gear Oil ; Quart (10121) - Agrimart It was quite a bit cheaper ($50 for 4 quarts delivered), meets all the standards and seems to work just fine if 4000 miles of towing in up to 100 degree heat means anything. (not much in the long term sense) Pretty hard to tell the difference unless you operate a fleet IMO.
