Differential Oil

What does everyone use, and what do you like about or notice about it. Also in the 2003, V10 X owners manual as to differential oil of course it says not to change unless leaking or submerged( I have no idea what the PO did did to the X) but I am going to change it anyway, the owners manual lists the captivity of the front but leaves oil type blank and then list the captivity for the rear and says to replace with 75/140W syn, I guess this is ment to imply that the same weight is used in both differentials. Of course the Haynes manual says to use 75/90W in the front but I think that the manual with the X would more than likely be the one to follow, Thoughts. A question about motor oil, is anybody using heavier motor oil weights with the heat this summer. Never had problems with 5/20W MC blend before but never had a V10, Thanks again

75/140 in the rear, 75/90 in the front. I use Mobil 1.

If you have a limited slip rear, make sure to add the friction modifier as well.

Front capacity is 3.8 pint (2 qt)

Wonder why my X owners manual didn't list the front differential oil weight as 75/90W, save on ink? Seems to make sense though as the front differential isn't used like the rear

I have royal purple in my excursion and It comes with the friction modifier in it. It's also what the parts store closest to my house caries.
