Has anyone put replacement seats in a Superduty? I was thinking about trying to find some bucket seats for the front and the back that allow the passengers to relax a little better on our long trips. Granted this is not an absolute must do, but a wish list item and I am not sure where to find such an animal.
I just replaced my 1999 Lariat Leather Super Duty Seats with some 03 Lariat Leather Super Duty Seats. pretty easy swap. paid $280 for them. just have to be lucky and find them. Craigslist is where i found mine. and keep an eye out at the junk yards
I replaced my 1999 crew cab seats which where both bench configuration and replaced them with seats in much better condition from a 2000 that were 40/20/40 front and bench with armrest in rear.
I believe you can change into any OEM configuration. You just need to put plugs in any floor pan bolt openings left after the swap. Also may need to pick up any extra necessary hardware that goes with what you are putting in if needed.
The seat belts may bolt into the floor pan differently depending on what you put in. What I mean is that on the 40/20/40 seats I put in I believe I nol ger needed the middle seat belt to anchor to the floor pan since it's anchored to the middle jump seat.
You may also have to cut out new holes in your carpet/floor covering. Oh, and sometimes those seat belt bolts are hell on wheels to get out. Be ready with a lot of PB blaster and possibly a torch.
