I have tried searching on this site for days to no avail. I'm trying to figure out all of the compatible seats I can get for my 2000 superduty. I only need the front seats. It is a extended cab lariat with fold down armrest in the middle. I heard somewhere that you can lincoln navigator seats that will bolt right in with no mods. Is that true? What other vehicles could I pull seats out of put in mine. Thanks for the help!
The Navigator is kinda like an Explorer, kinda like an F150......I kinda doubt that those seats will just bolt into a '99-'07 S/D......may be if you swap tracks??-would be interesting to find out.....
Footprint is the the same between SD trucks and Excursions. The footprint (think bolts in the floor) for the seats out of an Expedition or Navigator will not be the same.

I’m sorry to hijack this post but I figured you might have the info I need
Do you have any knowledge of what the bolt pattern would be for a 1999 Ford E150? I’ve read that they are all compatible after 1997 but I’m not sure what the measurements on mine are. Also wondering if I can switch front and rear seats out?
thanks much
Corissa
Corissa, the e150 econoline van seat sits on a pedestal. The pedestal at least on my 99 e350 and 2001 e350 are the same. Although they are r and left specific. I bought some used seats out of a 97 e450 rv just to have the pedestals and they were also the same. There’s small differences like a drawer under the passenger side but bolt pattern and height are still the same. Rear seats in the van are likely different unless they happen to have the same pedestals.
If your front and rear seats are all 4 captains chairs what you might be able to do is swap the upper part of the seat to the correct pedestal. Only 4 bolts hold the factory seat to the lower pedestal.

Hi T-wood
I am trying to figure out if the rear seats would be compatible with the bolt pattern in a newer van. Even if both patterns are 4 bolt would the actual measurements from bolt to bolt be the same?
I do have all captains seats..good to know I might need new base if I want to swap them out.
I appreciate all your information

Edit to add: I may be looking to swap the front seats with the rear so I might try the seat swap vs taking the base off. I want the rear seats gone so my dogs have more space. I’m also possibly interested in putting 2 seats in a 1992 Ford box truck. Is the bolt pattern the same on the front seats of E150 van and 1992 box truck?
thanks much

I’ll speculate and say there is a good chance your rear captain seats will bolt to the front seat pedestal. For me the easiest way to do this is to remove the four torx+55 bolts that hold the pedestal to the floor. Remove the whole assembly as one. (I do this anytime I need to remove the doghouse). Then attempt the seat swap. There will be a pigtail for your seat belt pretentioner, disconnect that and any pigtails for power seats. I can’t comment on any power seat functions mine were all manual.
Iirc there are 4..1/2” bolts that hold the seat itself to the seat tracks. You have to remove the seat tracks from the pedestal, then remove the seat from the tracks. I can’t remember but during removal of one or the other I had to slide the seat forward or back to access the bolts.
Reinstall seat tracks to new seat. At this point it’s going to be obvious if this works easily or not. Then bolt seat tracks to the pedestal. Install assembly in the van, careful not to pinch wiring under the seat base/pedestal.
Your box truck fittment largely depends if it’s a eseries box truck? If it’s an eseries a quick look at the seat bases/ pedestals should answer that.
Thanks for a thorough and easy to understand answer.
I’ll keep you posted on how the seat exchange goes. It probably will be easier to switch the seats instead of the bases.
