C4 tailshaft length?

C4 tailshaft length?
I have a C4 with the long tailshaft housing and would like to use a short tailshaft housing.
Obviously the housing and output shaft will have to be changed, but what other parts will require changing as well? Does the governor sit at the same place on both shaft lengths? Are they the same except for the length out to the splines?Any answers will be most appreciated. Polkat
