So my truck sat for over a year without being started with a bad pressure plate I pulled the transmission change the clutch disc, pressure plate and had the flywheel resurfaced I reassemblied it filled my transmission, finished my exhaust and when to fire it up after a year and a half and it was howling and wouldnt only stay running if I kept pumping the throttle. My front accesories are disconnected to check them and it stayed My started is new I checked to make it sure it wasnt sticking. Im pretty sure I got a vacuum leak, but it shouldnt be a loud howling. Im kinda stumped when I left it was running extremely well all it has done is sit and hang out.
Not sure what you mean by "howling". But... since the only thing you changed was the clutch, start there. Is it assembled correctly? Is the clutch disk installed in the correct correction? More than one has been "flipped". How about the throw out bearing?
throwout bearing new, clutch wont go together backwards, if its wrong it wont sit against the face it will bottom out against the the crank and the hub. But thanks for the input.
Well after 4 hours of tinkering a homemade carb gasket, new vacuum line for my dizzie and a well lubed starter bendix the noise is gone and the truck is running like a champ again. Thanks for the help it was appreciated.
