Does the insulator between the radiator frame and the frame require two pads? When I ordered from Classic Haulers the web sit says two required, is that right.
Hi ChuckRob ,
I just had to answer this exact question myself. By looking in my 53-56 parts manual as far as I can tell by the picture you should use two pads. One goes between the rad support and frame, one goes on the bottom of the frame with a metal plate the exact copy of the rubber pad then the nuts and washers. This gives a cushion effect in both directions. Wish I could copy the pic out of the parts book but I don't know how. I hope this helps.
Bye for now, Old Ugly.

If you are using Win 7, use the Snipping Tool...
But the pic is for the 53-56, I don't believe a '48 needs two. (I'm assuming that's what it's for) Mine just has one on top of the crossmember. The parts CD doesn't show a detail for 48 - 52
ALBUQ F-1,
It appears that you are right, a 48 or 50. I should have went into his profile, never thought.
As far as I can tell from different info you are right again, one pad between the rad support and frame then springs, flat washers and lock nuts on the bottom. I would personally add the second pad and a plate on the bottom if there is enough stud length. Just a thought, may not work.
Thanks for the help. I do have the spring setup on my 48. I could not see why two pads were needed unless due to thickness of the pad. Thanks again for you help. It's coming together ever so slowly.
