You cab "fit" any transmission with that specific bellhousing bolt pattern. That includes the 300, 302, and 351w. Why do you want to replace your tranny?

It would probably be cheaper to fix it than replace it. What tranny is it.

Is it an E4OD, or an AOD?

An E4OD will have an overdrive cancel button on the end of the shifter, the AOD will not.

Off the top of my non-expert head I know of 3 transmissions available in that truck that fit that description. Look in the door jamb on the driver's side for the door tag and find the trans code.

If you're sticking with the same tranny than any year should work as long as it was mated to a small block and you get one with the proper tailshaft housing depending on if it's 2wd or 4wd. You could also go with a totally different tranny like a manual 5-speed ZF5. If it were me I'd probably take it to a reputable tranny shop and have them repair it and upgrade it to make it stonger because most OD autos from the 80's and 90's are somewhat weak and prone to failure in stock form, plus you never know what shape a used tranny will be in. It'll cost a pretty penny but if cared for it can serve you the rest of your life. If you don't feel like keeping the truck the rest of your life then cut your losses and scrap it and get another or pull one from a salvage yard and swap it yourself. They will usually give you a refund if the part doesn't work.

I think that's the AOD pattern is the first D inside an O and the second just a D? If there is no switch on the dash to lock out overdrive than you have a AOD.

The van trans is different but everything can be swapped to make it work as it was available in the F-series. If the van has a small block it can be made to work.

If the van does not have an OD cancel button than it is a C6. If the van has a 351, the transmission will bolt up, but the support member and driveshaft likely will not work.

Yes, I should have mentioned that you will need parts from pickups to make it work. If your truck is a 4x4 though you will have to change the tailshaft housing from the van trans to get the T-case to bolt up. you might need a different crossmember or at least the mount and you might have to change driveshafts if the transmissions are different lengths. But all of that can be had from a wrecking yard if need be.

Ok I just went back and saw the F150 has the 5.0. The 5.8l ECM might run the 5.0 but I would err on the side of caution and guess not. Just so we know for sure what we are working with get the trans codes from the door jamb and then come back and post up all of the info on each rig. So far I think you have a '90 F150 with a 5.0l and probably an AOD but we don't know if it's 4wd or 2wd, regular cab or super, short box or long. The you have a '91 E350 with a 5.8l and either a C6 or E4od.
