Where do you keep.......

For those of you who Conceal Carry, where/what do you have setup to store your sidearm in your truck? I am trying to come up with a better way to keep it available and secure. The strap that goes all the way around the seat and puts the holster between your legs puts it in a decent spot but I don't really like the strap running across the seat. I have thought about trying to attach it to the lower dash/fuse access panel under the steering column, but I am nervous that the panel may just fall off from the weight. It is only held on by 1/4 turn fasteners. Truck is an 89. Thanks guys.

In this truck i just keep the holster on my belt on my right side. I have also seen a commercially available holster that attaches to the panle under the dash. It has a hook on each end and cinches down tight to stay on. I have also seen people bolt or velcro a holster to the inside of the console so the gun is always in the same place.

I think I have seen this dash holster, but I may be thinking of something different. In my Dodge I have a great place that I have a holster attached permanently like you mentioned. The ford just doesn't have as good a spot. Thanks Matt

I have done that, I just feel clumsy when trying to get it out. I also want to be able to grab it with my right hand.

I got a cheap 5 dollar holster from walmart and used velcro to secure it to the fuse cover under the dash of my 89. It's out of the way and easy to get to. And I keep my ol faithful 22 behind the seat during squirrel season

Velcro might be ok for holding up my LC9, but the SR40C with the 15 round mag is kind of heavy

I dont ussally take mine off when im driving so its always on my hip. If you chose to carry it on you like me you could do like ive seen from massad ayoob and lift your shirt and tuck it behind your holster so its easier acess. The other thing ive seen and depends on your seat set up would be a holster on the side of the center console between the seats. Looking at my truck and seat set up On me works best

I get uncomfortable if I try to leave it on my body. My truck has a bench seat so there is no center console. There is just a flip down cloth covered arm rest that flips out of the back of the center of the bench seat. I wish I had captains chairs and a console.

There is one on the right side of the steering wheel, just below the gauge cluster, it is just big enough for my wallet and house keys. You have an idea?

I live in Illinois! I keep mine concealed in a gun case, without the clip, out of reach! Yay Illinois!
