Another Tranny issue/UPDATE

2001 F350 7.3. ONLY when the trucks at idle or while im sitting at a redlight does my OD light blink on and off, when this happens when I take off from the stop light the truck shifts from 1st into 2nd WAY to soon, almost immedietely. As I keep driving it shifts into 3rd and overdrive normally, then the light goes off and all is well again untill the next time I come to a stop. IF I put truck in neutral at the redlight it will not do it, JUST when its in drive and foot is on the brake. Any ideas, I KNOW I need to get the codes checked, it could be the TCC censor or a faulty wire from what Ive researched. I checked the fuses and all seem good. Its only doing this sporadically also, some times for an hour it will be perfect then out of the blue the light is flashing.

I should mention that the tranny was just put in 5,000 miles ago from a used truck with just 40,000 miles on it, fluid level is good and its nice and red.

i also unhooked the VSS and wiped it off as well as the switch on the drivers side of the tranny, nothing seemed wrong with either.

one more piece of the puzzle, it does have a TS programmer in it but I never rod on the truck. I noticed that when this problem is happening anytime I shift the truck into neutral or park the RPMs jump up to 1200 and then come right back down to normal, the truck NEVER does an idle jump like that unless the OD light is blinking and being weird.

The OD light blinking means that there is a stored transmission code, I would start by finding out what that is.

Get those codes read ASAP, you will have to go to the dealer to get the codes read. You could further damage the transmission by driving it that way.

I can see having it shift into 2nd way to soon causing damage but if I put it in neutral at each stop it drives just fine and it will not cause the light to blink or shift prematurely. I DO UNDERSTAND that I must get the codes read ASAP but NOT driving the truck is NOT an option, its my only way to work. Ill get them read tommorow.

codes read, says P0720 which is Output speed sensor. IS there only one of these on my 4R100? Ford has one for $38, should I replace or take it out and clean it up?

so heres whats going on. I unplugged the alternator and plugged back in cause I heard that it can cause this issue im having AND I also removed the output speed sonsor and wiped it off, shook the wires, they seemed fine and re-installed the OSS. When I first started the truck back up the od light started flashing again and I decided to just go get the new OSS. Well 30 mins later I leave my house and drive the 6 miles to the part place and the truck is perfect, no blinking light anymore, I TRIED EVERYTHING to get the light to blink again and for the truck to act weird again and it never did, so I drove it all the way back home with no issues. Maybe wiping off the OSS did the trick, not sure.
