Flashing OD light?
I have a 2001 Edge, 2WD, 4.0, AT. On the way home from work tonite, the OD light started flashing while cruising at 70mph. Everything seemed to be working OK. When I got off the interstate into stop & go traffic, the 1-2 shift was really firm. To the point where it chirped the tires. I had a stop to make, when I came back out, there was no flashing light and it shifted fine.
What's going on here? Is my tranny about to take a dump?
Any help would be appreciated!

I guess I would get it checked out as soon as possible in case it's an indication of the tranny failing. You'll need to find someone (or purchase one) with a code scanner that has the ability to read the codes set by the tranny. Unfortunately, not all scanners can read these 'advanced' codes without an upgrade. Maybe newer ones are better, I'm not sure. Search 'flashing od light' and you'll find you aren't alone with this problem.
