Scan Gauge Question

Hey everyone, I have been reading tons of info on this forum about the 6.0 and I am well aware of all the issues but with that being said I am going to look at a 2005 F350 CC LB 6.0 truck tomorrow evening. I went to auto zone earlier and bought a scan gauge 2 to take with me. My question is, do i just plug this thing in and it will read out the coolant and oil temps or what? I have never used one before, mainly just wanting to use it to check the ECT/EOT delta. Basically I just need to know what to do once i plug it in to get where i need to be. Thanks

To read coolant temp it is preprogrammed so plug and play (FWT)

to read oil temp you need to set up a xguage (custom game) so need 5 minutes setup....

Guage: Engine Oil Temp (EOT)
TXD: 07E0221310
RXF: 046205130610
RXD: 3010
MTH: 00090005F060

basically you are instructing the scan guage to read a PID on the OB2 port from the truck.

You can use any obd2 port to set every thing up, and it will all stay for your use tomorrow.

Yes SIR^^^^Sean is right on the MONEY

Program and have ready to plug in for test ride

Oh and the ECT should be close to ambeint or under so if they warmed it up Before you got there they could be trying to hide a Bad FICM or something

Can program the SGII on any 1996 OBDII or newer auto

The Xgauges will only work on a 6.0L but any auto to program
