I want to once again thank everyone for their advice and pics of the procedure. I now have to go and get the harness for the light, it will probably be next week before I can go and get one. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

After thinking about it, I think I am going to take Shaun's advice and not only get the harness for the map lights, but install a cargo light for the back of the cab as well. If I am going to be taking the trim out of the interior I may as well go ahead and do the cargo light while it is all apart.

Good plan, Stan. I put mine in with caulk as the factory gasket was toast. Siliconized caulk lasts a looong time.

I'll reinterate what I said earlier.

1980-1991: For the Map/Dome/Cargo Lamp wiring.

1980-1992/(1993 without third stop lamp) for the cargo lamp housing.
Finding the Cargo Lamp Housing for a 1992 or 1993 without third brake lamp, has a better rubber gasket around the Cargo Lamp Housing than the 1980-1991 counterparts. The Housing is identicle, but the rubber gasket is much improved, 1992/1993 etc...
