just bought '81
just bought this 1981 351 xlt,.it needs a few little things,. but my question is gotta paint the fibreglass top , anybody out there use a bed liner paint or textured type paint??,.Gunner

Well I haven't used any textured type paint, but my fiberglass top was already kinda bumpy from the factory. It was pretty badly faded and I just used like 4 cans of spray paint from O'Reillys and it turned out really well for spray paint.
Here it was before about a year before I painted it, it got almost two shades lighter from fading than this picture, I just didn't have a picture of it:
And here it is after I painted it:
Not the best pictures but kinda gives you an idea of what spray paint did for the back. It still has that stock bumpy texture to it but the paint looks good except for the top being kinda spotty where I couldn't reach (and it was really windy out when I painted too
)
Also, to post pictures you need to set up an online image account such as photobucket. When you set up an account, you'll need an email and then make a passowrd, then you upload the pictures and get the image code ("IMG code" is what it will say) and copy that into the post. Its pretty easy and you can store as many pictures as you want.

can't see it here but top paint is gone,.i thought a bed liner or any roll on paint would be ok ,maybe even the new countertop stuff,.since its fibreglass
