minimax settings after delete

Finally got the mini max and delete pipe installed. What settings are you all watching in the 4 spots? Currently have oil temp, coolant temp, pyro 1 and I think tranny temp is #4. Few of the acronyms I didn't even know what they were in the list.

Aside from breaking the stupid exhaust clamp bolt at the back of the DPF and needing to go in to buy a new DPF to Cat gasket it didn't go too bad. The one extra long bolt at the very top pissed me off and I ended up cutting the tail out to get the DPF to drop, just couldn't get everything to swing quite enough for it to drop out of the way and pull it out. Rear pyro also couldn't be removed from the tail so I cut the cord to at least plug the plug in so the truck end wouldn't get ruined. The weight savings alone should be worth a half a mpg.

Only drove a few miles to do the tranny relearn but really like it and won't miss knowing I have several gallons of diesels being wasted on that damn filter every 120 miles as well as filling my crank case, should be able to go over 5K miles on the oil now.

For anyone still thinking about it it is roughly $1200 for the tuner, pipe and gasket takes 2-4 hours depending on your tools, skill and facilities. I went with the mini max from H&S, DPF pipe delete from AFE and you have to go with Ford for the gasket, get it from rock auto for under $10--the dealer likes to only sell them with 8 nuts you won't need and 1 sheet of instructions for $105. They even have the ***** to show, instead of the part number in the parts picture, a dollar sign for the kit. Guess they just admit they are screwing you. Gasket part number is: 2F1Z-5E241-AA $10.45 retail but won't show up on the dealers system, lots of places online have it though for about $7. My stock one came out in about 12 pieces.

The nuts are supposed to be discarded and replaced with the new ones when replacing the DPF according to the Ford manual.

I think they are designed to deform on the way on so they don't loosen by themselves.

$93 on the Motorcraft online ordering. For that, I'd expect those nuts to be made of gold!

Should have deleted the DOC (CAT) as well. It's only two bolts to the DP and another exhaust hanger. The whole unit drops out very nicely and no need to buy gaskets or worry about those 8 bolts.

I'm monitoring EGT 1, EOT, ECT & Boost.

Defuel is also a great feature in case you haven't changed the factory settings.

Yes I set the defuel, still a touch of black smoke at a start but I am betting that was always there and just caught by the DPF before. No need for the cat delete this was to save money and make the engine live longer.

About the only thing I don't like about the tuner is you can't change things like tire size without going through the whole tune process.

I was simply implying that it would have been much much easier to drop the DPF/DOC as a whole unit. Three bolts total and a few exhaust hangers.

I am looking to do the same upgrade in the next couple months after my warranty is up to my '08 F350. The only decision I am having trouble with is whether or not I should do a turbo back exhaust or just the DPF/DOC pipe. I am not looking to gain a bunch of HP, but more so make the engine last longer and be more reliable.

Yeah, I didn't even run a hp tune it is still on stock. Towed almost 100 miles today about 10K loaded and 7K empty stayed above 13mpg on the LOM the whole way, never would have been above 10mpg with the DPF on and the regen it would have surely done.

I figure if it used just 2 gallons every time it regened, which I doubt it was that low, the tuner/delete pipe will pay for themselves in 1 year.
